Reshoots
Upon reviewing the footage, Connor made the decision that we should do some reshoots. The quality of the filming was mostly great, but in some of shots the boom pole was visible, and some of the sheets and bin bags that we used to block out the windows. We couldn't use this in the film as it was quite obvious, and destroyed the illusion of the party. Connor wanted to create a "one shot" look, so we couldn't cut around it either.
As such we looked at doing a few more days of filming. Connor got in touch with the actors, and I booked out a studio.
Reshoots only took one day, and we decided against redoing the black space shots in the studio. We learned from our mistakes during the first few days of filming and things went more smoothly than before. We made sure that we taped bin bags to the windows on the outside so that they couldn't be seen, we thought more about where the lights were placed so that they were not in shot, and had technical rehearsals with the boom to ensure that it wasn't getting into the shots. The footage that we ended up with was better, and improved the quality of the final film quite a bit. The reshoots were well worth our time.
